In a devastating turn of events, Jett Lawrence’s 2026 AMA Supercross dreams have been shattered before the season even begins. The reigning AMA Pro Motocross and SuperMotocross champion suffered a severe injury during a training session at Florida’s Dog Pound facility on Friday, December 20, 2025. According to a press release from Honda HRC Progressive, the 22-year-old Australian fractured his right ankle and foot, specifically the talus and navicular bones, requiring immediate surgery. His recovery is expected to take at least three months, effectively sidelining him from the upcoming Supercross season.

“This pre-season has been brutal,” admitted Brandon Wilson, Manager of Racing and Advertising at American Honda. “Losing both Jo and Jett before Anaheim is a tough pill to swallow, especially given the team’s strong momentum. Jett was a favorite for the Supercross title, but injuries are an unfortunate reality in racing. His full recovery is our top priority. In the meantime, we’re fully behind Hunter and Chance. They’ve proven they have the speed to win, and I believe they’re ready to take their performance to the next level in 2026.”
